I can feel his comforting presence
Even when he has left the room,
His remaining protective essence
Chases off any sense of doom.
If he only knew how much I admire
His chivalry, kindness, and caring
And the brightly-burning, big blazing fire
In his heart that stems from his daring.
I see his constance to my cause
His steadfast dedication keeps me strong
And yet this feeling gives me pause
How to confess to one I've loved so long?
I feel I can sense his desire
To express his own mutual feeling
If only he'd say it with lyre
Then with kiss our true love we'd be sealing.
But I could be mistaken, 'tis true
His affections may not be for me
I shall still always hope he will woo
Myself; to my heart he holds the key.

8D Yay, part two! This was written a few months after the first one, in Jan/Feb of 2008. Apparently I wrote the first two verses during a dance or something... I wonder what that was. I don't remember going to any dance in January. XP But ah well. I also don't know if I had the first poem in mind when I began the poem, but obviously I wrote the last three verses thinking to connect it with the one from the guy's point of view.
What can I say, sometimes random verses of prettiness pop into my head... then I go back to finish them as poems and it's hard to make the rest as nice. XD But i think this one came out pretty well. Its got a better beat/rhythm than the last one, and I think I counted out the syllables this time.
I think the only part I don't really like is the "If only he'd say it with lyre/Then with kiss our true love we'd be sealing" part. XP It's a bit too over-the-top for me. But I think I had trouble with the rhyming so I didn't have much of a choice. XD Oh well, the rest of it came out good. 8D
And just so you all know, I may not have written an ending in either of the poems, but the two do have a happy ending, 'kay? D8 Just so no one can say otherwise. If they were actual characters or whatever, I'd write a story about them so them finding out about each other's love and then getting together would be official, but they're not and I'm too lazy to make them into a story. But they have a happy ending so there.
